On January 11th and 12th, Professor Jenn - Terng Gauto of Northern Illinois University invited by School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of our school made two academic lectures at room 0108 of Building 5 in our school. Titles of the lectures are separately An Experimental and Analytical Study on the Limit Drawing the Wire of Stainless Steel 304 Foil for Micro Sheet Forming and The Coupling Influence of the Size Effects and Strain Rates on the Form-ability of Austenitic Stainless Steel 304 Foil. Before the lectures, dean of School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering Li Qiang met professor Gau, and had a deeply communication about scientific research cooperation which will be carried on in future. Many teachers and students of School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering attended the lectures.
Based on his practice of scientific research, professor Gau introduced a sheet subtly molding technology and its wide application in the field of car industry and so on, and demonstrated its independent research and development of micro stamping equipment combined with related project experience and problems in the research. During the lectures, professor Gau communicated with teachers and students, and answered their questions in detail. After the lectures, professor Gau visited Beijing Engineering Technology Research Center of Variable Cross-Section Roller Bend Forming, and gave high praise to related research achievements of our school.
Professor Jenn - Terng Gau is a professor and doctoral supervisor of School of Mechanical Engineering in Northern Illinois University school, and also a famous scholar in the field of materials forming in the world. He worked at Ford Motor Company in the United States for many years. He had made a series of innovative achievements in sheet subtly molding technology, product design and development, technology analysis and molds design, plate test technology research, adiabatic impact molding and other fields.
