International Students’ 2013 Spring Semester Opening Ceremony

On the afternoon of Feb. 25, International Students’ 2013 Spring Semester Opening Ceremony was hold in Conference Room 342, Building 1. Vice President Li Zhengxi attended it and addressed the ceremony. Dean of College of Humanities and Law Guo Tao, Executive Director of International Office Xiong Jiaquan, and other 50 new enrolled international students attended the ceremony.


Vice President Li Zhengxi was on behalf of school to welcome all the new international students. He introduced our school’s basic situation, school’s specialty, and international student education’s achievement. He also encouraged international students to get used to our school’s life soon, put effort to study Chinese language and major courses, and try to receive Beijing Municipal Government’s International Students’ Scholarship. He hoped that international students should learn Chinese culture more deeply, communicate with Chinese students and students of other countries, and contribute to all international economics trade and cultural exchange.


Executive Director of International Office Xiong Jiaquan, Associate Director of Department of Chinese as a Foreign Lanuage in College of Humanities and Law, and Japanese student Saito Yuki gave a speech in the ceremony. After the ceremony, Assistant Director of International Office Xu Mei gave detailed information of security to international students.
Our school’s international students education develop rapidly in recent years. The number of international student increased year by year. Over 50 new international students were enrolled in 2013 Spring semester. At present, there were over 250 international students studying at our school who were from 30 countries, such as South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, America, Germany, France, Spain, and Rwanda. Among these students, 104 students were in degree programs.
