Measures of Beijing Government Scholarship in North China University of Technology

Beijing Government Scholarship is the tuition funding for outstanding foreign students who are and will be studying in North China University of Technology by Beijing Municipal People's Government. The establishment of this scholarship program will expand the size of the cultivating high-level foreign students, improve the overall level of certificate education, and thus promote the development of foreign students’ affairs in our school. These  Measures are formulated in order to attract and encourage more foreign students who are excellent both in conduct and learning to study in NCUT.

First, Objects and amounts of Beijing Government Scholarship

This scholarship is mainly used to pay tuition fees for foreign students gaining scholarship qualifications, and specific objects and amounts are as follows.                                               

1. Scholarship for freshmen

1.1Excellent graduate students shall comply with the requirements, are admitted by NCUT and not more than 45 years old. The scholarship amount can not be higher than that of tuition fees for one academic year.

2.2Excellent undergraduate students shall comply with the requirements, are admitted by NCUT and not more than 35 years old. The scholarship amount can not be higher than that of tuition fees for one academic year.

2. Scholarship for students at school

2.1 Excellent graduate and undergraduate students shall have officially registered in NCUT. Each course result shall be more than 70 points in principle, and there are not behaviors of violating school rules, regulations and laws. The scholarship amount can not be higher than that of tuition fees for one academic year.

2.2Excellent advanced students shall have officially registered in NCUT. Each course result shall be more than 80 points in principle, and there are not behaviors of violating school rules, regulations and laws. The scholarship amount can not be higher than that of tuition fees for one academic year.

Second, application process of Beijing Government Scholarship

1. Application materials of freshmen

1.1 “Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship”;

1.2 Certification and transcripts of the most advanced studies (Notarized photocopy);

1.3 Applicants who came to Beijing to get degrees or conduct research shall provide study plan or research plan (not less than 800 words);

1.4 Applicants who study art professionals shall provide related art work based on our requests;

1.5 Applicants under the ages of 18 need to submit related legal documents of legal guardians in China.

All the application materials submitted will not be returned whether the candidates are accepted or not.

2. Application materials of students at school

2.1“Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship”;

2.2 Transcripts.

All the application materials submitted will not be returned whether the candidates are accepted or not.

3.Application time

Application time is from 20 March to April 30 every year. Application materials of freshmen and students at school shall be submitted respectively to International Office and the evaluation group of each faculty. And the evaluation and public notification are carried out from May 10 to 20.

Three, Evaluation procedures

1. International Office is in charge of extending relevant application forms and explaining evaluation requirements.

2. Application materials of freshmen are evaluated by the scholarship evaluation committee. Based on the principle of preferential, they determine the winners according to the numbers of applications.

3. The evaluation group of each faculty conducts preliminary examination and hands in the recommended list to the scholarship evaluation committee that determines the winners.

4.  International Office is responsible for announcing the list of winners.

Four, issuance of Beijing Government Scholarship

1. Scholarship will be directly used to pay full or partial tuition according to the corresponding categories, and the supporting scholarship can also be used to pay for on-campus accommodation.

2. During the course of study, scholarship winners, who violate the Chinese law, school rules and regulations, and do not conform to related regulations of Beijing Government Scholarship, will be disqualified from the scholarship and the issuance of scholarship will also be stopped.

3. If foreign students who have won the scholarship apply for transferring because of his or her personal reasons, he or she can do it only after returning gained scholarship.

Five, these measures will be put into effect since April 2015 and International Office is responsible for interpretation.
